Sian Richardson
Cold Water Swimmer & founder of The Bluetits Chill Swimmers
Sian Richardson began cold water swimming in the sea off the coast of Pembrokeshire in 2014, looking for new, easier-on-the-joints thrills after years of triathlons and ultra marathons. Friends began to swim with her, as did visitors to the area, and The Bluetits Chill Swimmers was born.
The Bluetits Chill Swimmers became a social enterprise in 2014, with a mission to create a confident, capable community through cold water swimming, and Sian remains at the helm a director.
Sian’s favourite part of running The Bluetits is still swimming with new Bluetits, and watching their journey from ‘Why on earth am I doing this?’ to ‘Oh my goodness this is incredible and I am invincible!’
She has recently started a podcast ‘Bluetit Tales From Valerie’, and enjoys nothing more than travelling around in her VW Camper (Valerie Beaver Walker) to swim with Bluetit flocks around the country.
